Joshua Berry, professionally known as J. Hustler, is an independent rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and founder of Gametutionalized Entertainment. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, J. Hustler has built his career through persistence, authenticity, and a relentless commitment to elevating independent hip-hop.
Inspired by icons such as 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., JAY-Z, Master P, Birdman, Plies, Pimp C, and Young Dolph, J. Hustler blends street wisdom, Southern influence, and entrepreneurial ambition into music that speaks to hustlers, dreamers, and self-made individuals striving for success.
J. Hustler’s independent journey began with the Hustle Hard or Stay Broke mixtape series, where he built a grassroots following by personally selling CDs from the trunk of his car. His career was interrupted after he was arrested on a felony firearm possession charge, leading to 17 months in the Milwaukee County Jail while he fought his case. He ultimately resolved the case by pleading guilty and was sentenced to time served.
Rather than letting that chapter define him, the experience became a turning point. It strengthened his determination to pursue music with greater purpose and intensity, inspiring him to dedicate himself fully to building a legitimate career through his art and entrepreneurship.
Following his release, J. Hustler returned with Hustle Hard or Stay Broke Vol. 2, featuring the single “Back in the Trap,” which received radio support on V100 FM in Milwaukee. He continued building momentum during pandemic with releases including “Quarantining With the Dough,” “To Get My Money Right,” “No Justice No Peace,” and “Whole Vibe,” with Whole Vibe earning airplay on 97.9 The Beat in Dallas–Fort Worth. His growing catalog led to the release of Down South Hustlin’ and later Trapumentary, hosted by legendary DJ Bigga Rankin, further expanding his presence throughout Southern hip-hop. He has also collaborated with Blood Raw on “When Ya Bag Right” and continues to build on that momentum with releases including “Blow a Bag.”
More than an artist, J. Hustler is building a brand. Through Gametutionalized Entertainment, his vision extends beyond creating music to developing a lasting business and platform that empowers independent artists. Every release reflects his real-life experiences, work ethic, and belief that consistency and perseverance create opportunity.
As he continues to expand his catalog, grow his audience, and strengthen his presence across the music industry, J. Hustler remains focused on one mission: building a legacy that inspires the next generation while proving that independent success can be achieved through dedication, vision, and relentless hustle.
